From Seed to Cloth: My Journey with Linen

Welcome! I’m excited to share a glimpse into my ongoing journey of learning to grow, spin, and weave linen by hand. What started as a simple curiosity about this ancient fiber has grown into a deep appreciation for the skill, patience, and connection to the land that linen requires.

From planting flax seeds to retting, spinning, and finally weaving the fibers into cloth. Each step has taught me something new, not only about linen, but about resilience, tradition, and slowing down to truly understand the materials.

Keeping my hands busy

While growing and processing flax has been a grounding and transformative experience, it’s just one thread in the larger tapestry of my fiber life. My hands are often busy with knitting needles, spinning yarns, or weaving. Knitting gives me comfort and rhythm. Spinning is a practice that connects me to raw materials. And weaving allows me to bring it all together, turning yarns into cloth. Each of these crafts feeds the others. Together, they keep me learning, creating, and grounded in the joy of making. This space is where I share those evolving projects, and experiments.
